We're Here!

I have to keep it short, because the internet is slow and Robel (our guide) is coming soon to take our group to dinner.

So the short of it is that we arrived in Addis this morning.  In keeping with the rest of our trip- my suitcase did not arrive with us.  But Matt and Eli's did, fortunately.  We were driven to the hotel, checked-in and had an hour to meet the rest of our travel group for our lunch/orientation session which had been pushed back in order to wait for us.  Then....We met Elijah!  It was so fun and he is so good natured. While we were there the doctor at the transition home checked him and gave us some advice regarding food and what to do when we get home because he is very malnourished.  He weighed in at 13 pounds at 10 months old.  The doctor is great btw, for those of you with little ones there.

Tomorrow we have pick him back up from the transition home, have our embassy appointment, take him back to TH, go shopping for things we may need, and pick him back up....for good!

Kim- no luck on the smile on video but those nannies sure know how to get it out of him! And wait until you see what he was wearing today! ;) Think pink

Janet- your little one was all smiles!  Just woke up from a nap.

Julia- your little one was also napping away with a little buddy.  They were snuggling up- so cute!

More tomorrow...

That brought tears to mine and Jesse's eyes. We are elated for Matthew, you, and of course Elijah for having the start of a wonderful future. How exciting for all of you! The ecstacy and joy 'shows' and is felt through your blog posts of how happy ya'll are. Praying for you too!

We've been on pins & needles, checking your blog frequently during the day...waiting for any info. What a grueling trip, but so worth it. Get some rest and we're counting the days till you ALL return.
