We got our referral today!
It was all very surreal. I had just arrived at a client's home. As I was getting out of the car I checked my phone, as I always do, to make sure I hadn't missed any calls while jamming in my car :) I had not missed any calls. I sighed a heavy sigh and thought "God, please let us get the call today." And it started ringing!!! In my hand! I wish I could've seen my face! When I answered, Terra (with our adoption agency) said "this is your referral call!" I could tell it is probably the best part of her job. She gave me a little bit of information about his name, birthday, why he was orphaned, and said that she was emailing his picture and the medical information. It took everything I had to actually walk up to my client's door and attempt to work. And just as I was thinking that it was the last place I wanted to be right then, I knock....and no answer. I was never so happy to have a no-show! I rushed home and Matthew and I opened the email together...and then spent the afternoon calling friends and family. We're so excited! I'd give you more information, but we're supposed to keep things confidential until court.
So here's what's next: The courts in Ethiopia are currently closed and will re-open in early October. At that time they can schedule a court date for us. Once we have a successful court date, then travel arrangements can be made. We're told to expect to travel 8-12 weeks from now.
I'm off to stare at our pictures some more!
